Interior Designer transforms indoor spaces into safe, functional, and visually appealing areas by managing projects from initial concept through final installation. Core Responsibilities • Client Consultation: Meet with clients to assess their style preferences, budget, functional requirements, and purpose of the space. • Space Planning & Concepts: Create layout sketches, mood boards, and 2D/3D design plans using software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit. • Material & Product Sourcing: Select and specify color palettes, flooring, lighting, wall finishes, furniture, fabrics, and plumbing fixtures. • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and accessibility standards. • Budget & Timeline Management: Estimate project costs, draft schedules, and track expenses. • Project Supervision: Coordinate with general contractors, architects, vendors, and craftspeople (such as electricians, painters, and carpenters) to oversee on-site execution. Required Skills & Qualifications • Technical Proficiency: Experience with design tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, or Adobe Creative Suite. • Education: A bachelor's degree or diploma in interior design or a related field. • Soft Skills: Strong communication, creative visualization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. • Certifications (Optional/Preferred): Credentials such as NCIDQ certification depending on regional requirements.
